Unstructured grids time series visualization with hardware-accelerated volume rendering

Direct volume rendering of unstructured grids has recently improved with approaches based on the use of hardware
acceleration with ray tracing dedicated GPU cores. However, these methods do not offer a solution for the visualization of
time-varying data, which is common in numerical simulations. In this paper, we propose a method for efficiently dealing with
unstructured grid time series using a progressive variance coherence approach for adaptive sampling of these data.
